Beneath Clouds explores the process of remembering places through other places. The memory of another place is the key reason Hudson, Wisconsin bears the name Hudson. According to the 2001-02 Hudson Area Community Guide, "In 1852 the cities first mayor, A.D. Gray, decided on the name Hudson because the St. Croix so much resembled the Hudson River valley in New York."

The work is a spatial mapping of recorded and remembered places, a layering of individual components that continually fold back upon themselves and only move 'forward' when pieced together and filtered through the personal histories (memories) of the viewer.
